Rollin with the Krewe!

Cailtyn, Mrs. American Dream 2015, got invited to participate in the Gasparilla 2016 Parade by The Mustang Sallies & Ryders.  One of our staff members, Yajaira, is a member, and was super excited to have Caitlyn join them at the fun event.

The Krewe of Mustang Sallies and Ryders, a co-ed Krewe, was formed in April 2005 by a group of socially-conscious business professionals to provide a forum for networking and socializing. Our members, like the mustang horses of the West, are daring, fun-loving, and unwilling to ride with the herd. The Krewe has approximately 70 members consisting of men and women of all ages from diverse backgrounds and professions. Our Krewe culture promotes individuality and the belief that our success is due to the contributions of each of our members.

She partnered with the Community Action Council of Howard County, MD to help with food donations at the local food bank. This was a great experience for her and she had fun meeting lots of other volunteers.  Here's more of what she had to say:
Ms. Maryland American Dream 2016 volunteering with the Community Action Council at the Howard County Food Bank on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. The Community Action Council “provides low-income residents with services including Head Start and other academic enrichment activities, housing, energy and weatherization support, crisis assistance, job training, and tax counseling.” On this Day of Service, I partnered with the group to help with food donations at the Howard County Food Bank. This was a wonderful experience and I will be back to help with other events and activities.

Mrs. North Carolina supports the men and women who protect us everyday!

14 January I had the honor of personally thanking the men and women of the Henderson Police Department. I met so many amazing people. I got the opportunity to spend time with S.W.A.T, plain clothes officers (pictures of them not included), and patrol officers. It was amazing. I will admit I almost cried while thanking them for what they do. I remember when I was a cop and how difficult it was sometimes to do your job because of all the hate towards cops. No matter what the media says I will always show my support of all police departments. Thank you guys and galls for what ya'll do!!!!
